ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Festival history
The festival started modestly by Yarmouk University. Then it developed into an official festival sponsored by the Ministry of Culture. the festival held in Jerash, in July every year, and uses the ancient city as a site for its artistic and cultural events. The festival is characterized by folkloric dances performances performed by local and international groups, and entertainment evening . Musical And plays, and singing evenings by Jordanian And Arabs singers.
During the periods, there was attended by dozens of artistic and literary figures, such as: fayroz، Sabah Fakhry، George wasouf، Mohamed Abdu، Najat al saghera، Saadoun Jaber، warda، Samira Saeed، Marcel Khalife، Majida Al Roumi, Melhem Barakat, Adel Imam, and a lot more.
Jerash Festival of Culture and Arts
The festival is a cultural event held annually in the Archaeological city of Jerash North Jordan. Founded in 1981. The festival presents shows Folklore Dancers which is performed by local and international bands, in addition to Ballet dances, Musical evenings, plays and shows, famous Opera, singing evenings by Arab and international singers.
